DSLR Camera Does Not Take Pictures

If you encounter a never-ending progress bar when trying to take a picture with your DSLR camera, follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check for an SD Card
    • Ensure that there is an SD card inserted in the camera. Some cameras require an SD card to take pictures.
  2. Set Image Format to JPEG
    • Confirm that the image format is set to JPEG only. Stop Motion Studio does not support RAW image capturing at this time.
  3. Set the Camera to AUTO Mode
    • Switch the camera to AUTO mode to simplify the settings and ensure basic functionality.
  4. Set the Camera Lens to AUTO Focus Mode
    • If applicable, set the camera lens to AUTO focus mode to help with focusing.
  5. Update the App
    • Ensure that you have the latest version of Stop Motion Studio installed on your computer.
  6. Disable RAW Only Capture Mode
    • If your camera is set to RAW only capture mode, disable this setting and use single JPEG. You can enable RAW capture later if needed.

Additional Troubleshooting

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, try setting the camera back to full manual mode:

  1. Set the Camera to Manual Mode (M)
    • Switch the camera to manual mode.
  2. Set the Camera Lens to Manual Focus Mode
    • Change the lens setting to manual focus mode and disable any image stabilizer features if applicable.
