Troubleshooting

First Aid

Many issues can be resolved by simply restarting your device. If you are experiencing problems, try this first.

Restarting an iPhone

For iPhone 8 and Later (iPhone X, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15)

  1. Press and hold the Side button and the Volume Up or Down button simultaneously.
  2. When the Slide to Power Off slider appears, release both buttons.
  3. Slide the slider to turn off your iPhone.
  4. After it powers down, wait about 30 seconds, then press and hold the Side button again until the Apple logo appears to turn it back on.
For iPhone 7 and Earlier
  1. Press and hold the Top (or Side) button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears.
  2. Slide the slider to turn off your iPhone.
  3. After it’s off, wait a few seconds and then press and hold the Top (or Side) button until the Apple logo appears to restart.

Restarting an Android Phone

Standard Method (for most Android phones)

  1. Press and hold the Power button (usually on the right or back of the device).
  2. When the power menu appears, tap on Restart or Reboot.
  3. If you don’t see the Restart option, tap on Power Off and then, once the phone powers down, press and hold the Power button again to turn it back on.

For newer Phones

  1. Press and hold the Power button and the Volume Down button simultaneously for about 10-15 seconds.
  2. The phone will force a restart, and the device should reboot automatically.

Restarting macOS (MacBook, iMac, Mac Mini)

Restart using the Apple Menu

  1. Click on the Apple logo in the top-left corner of your screen.
  2. Select Restart from the dropdown menu.
  3. Confirm by clicking Restart in the pop-up window.

Force Restart (if the system is unresponsive)

  1. Press and hold the Power button (on a MacBook, it’s usually at the top-right of the keyboard; on desktops, it’s often on the back).
  2. Hold it for about 10 seconds until the Mac powers off.
  3. Wait a few seconds, then press the Power button again to turn it back on.

Restarting Windows PC

Using the Start Menu

  1. Click the Start button (Windows icon) in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
  2. Select the Power icon.
  3. Choose Restart from the options.

Using Keyboard Shortcut

  1. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete.
  2. Select the Power icon in the bottom-right corner.
  3. Choose Restart.

Force Restart (if the PC is unresponsive)

  1. Press and hold the Power button on your computer for about 5-10 seconds.
  2. The PC will force a shutdown.
  3. Wait a few seconds, then press the Power button again to turn it back on.
